Installed SP2 today. Prior to installation I had run all my anti-malware
software, defragged, and whatever scandisk is called in SP.
Results: first computer couldn't find CD/DVD+ drive. absolutely nothing.
It can now find it, but two commercial software programs think that I'm
running a version of Win 5 or a 16 bit program and won't install (HP printer
and Info Select).
Boot and shutdown feel as if they've tripled or quadrupled in duration,
programs seem noticeably slower.
After defragging four times, etc. gave up and uninstalled as I'm writing
this.
Should I bother to get the CD version? I downloaded this mess. Thanks.

hi mate,
i installed winXp Home Edi. Then installed SP-1 & Sp-2. My Box is faster
than before & more reliable.
If you ever do the same then remember to install all device drivers after
installing SP-1 & SP-2.
there is nothin wrong with da downloaded SP-2.
