Hey, i just want to ask something... when i check my graphic card (ATI RADEON HD 5470 512mb), it says that i can't play games like mafia2, just cause 2, and gta 4, but when i try recently i can run both mafia 2 and just cause 2 ( not in ultra setting though), and it runs well.. what i want to ask is that if we change the setting to low setting does that affect the screen size? (i mean the size is become smaller...) or its just reduce the graphic?

and my friend have an acer laptop, same graphic card, but his processor is Core i3 530, and 2GB RAM, and he runs gta 4 nicely... i want to try but i'm afraid of the blue screen of death (i'm not a computer expert), but can i run gta 4?

here is my specs..

Reducing the settings to low reduces the eye-candy. Changing the resolution, makes it appear as if the screen is large. It increases the jaggies as you lower down the resolution.

Here's an example from Crysis

When it says that you can't play the game, what it really means, is that your PC doesn't meet the minimum requirements to play the game. Games will run, no doubt about that, but just not smoothly. :)

NOTE for the picture above:-
The image at the top most is Ultra High
The the next one is High, then comes Medium and the final one is on low settings.

Reducing the graphics settings reduces the eye candy, but it improves the performance and vice versa.

I can never tell the difference when looking at pictures only when playing >.< I was actually trying to figure out which way the pictures went. I saw the bottom one lacked shadowing/sun but it had detailed clouds and the rest didn't.

The last image with no shadows and 'detailed clouds' is because the sky is just an image stuck above. It's just a picture in the game. It doesn't show the day/night effect much good. The other ones- from medium, shows the graphically rendered clouds. They move from place to place like in real life. :)
