ABit says it does on their website.

I run an Athy 1.4 on mine, so I don't know from first hand experience.

In the FAQ section for the KG7, the site even explains that the BIOS update is only to change the way the name of the CPU is shown. It will support your XP even without the 5E update, you would just have to set the CPU clock speeds yourself, and they have a table to show you what settings go with which processor model.

I only mention this because some systems have had a difficulty with CDROM recognition under windows 98 and the 5E BIOS.

"Paul's unofficial KG7-Raid FAQ" mentions this Look under BIOS section, "what are the differences in KG7 BIOS versions?"

Thanks Alot for the URL's, I always seem to have problems browsing there site (even on a cable connection)....

In any case, I took the Plunge this mornning and Flashed the BIOS to 5E and the CD-Rom and CD-r Drives both vanished on first boot so I shut down and restarted and they were functional again which was a releaf ;) so i wish I had read that a head of time it would have saved me the head troma...

Try this web site : www.viahardware.com
there are many useful information on the bios, plus they post the latest bios from VIA. The downloads are much faster and better that going through the abit web site. The latest version is 5E to support the xp. A newly released bios is 5W dated 22 Oct 2001 that supports xp to 1900+....hope this helps...
