I know that VIA KT266A is the best AMD motherboard at the moment for Athlon XP. The question is has anyone tryed other chipsets with this new processor? KT266, KT133A or SIS 735. Reviews show the diference between KT266A and AMD761 but what about KT266? Does it work also fine with XP processors?
Please post a message because in a few days ill be buying a motherboard and in my country there is no possibility to buy a KT266A.

Sis 735, in the present time, does not support Athlon XP processors. Sis 745 supports Athlon XP.
My question goes to anyone who has bought an Athlon XP processor and has a KT266 motherboard.

from reading something the other day, i gather you can put an XP in, but it will only work like a Athlon, eg a 1500+ will basically be a Ahtlon 1.33ghz... dont quote me on that though im not 100% sure... mostly its because the BIOS doesnt know about the chip so cant take advantage of it properly, you can probably expect a BIOS update on any fairly new boards to make an XP work, but id suggest you find the update before buying the chip...

id suggest AMD 760 or 761 since you cant get KT266a, the KT266 is comparatively pants.
