Monitor turns off while video gaming?

While I'm playing a video game (for a while), my monitor would turn black. The LED light on the monitor would blink, like when you plug on your computer before turning on the CPU. The CPU still works. The speaker, would make some stuck noises. I had to reset my CPU to get it working again.

I think this happened when I applied an update on my graphics card/directx. However, that was years ago. I tried contacting the shop that built my system (it was self-built), and they say I can't update my drivers. That's ridiculous. I rolled back and it made no difference. Then I tried a different store. They ran tests and suggest I change my PSU. I did but my problem persists. Formatting my system had no success.

And another question. I have 4 GB of RAM. But my free memory is only 2.45 GB. Will this affect my computer/gaming? I use 64 bit OS.

Check the temperatures on your video card. Also, use memtest86+ to check if your RAM has got any problems or faults.

i suspect you Power supply
are using proper branded psu, which is atleast 400w

and also try checking your voltage from the plug cause it might be unstable or too low....
