Graphics options on GTA 4

Hi Guys!! why there are different graphics settings on gta 4? just like this:

The First Picture is for GTA 4 If you do not Patch it, It'll only have those options.

If you patch GTA 4 to Patch 1.0.7.0 (not sure maybe earlier but I only patch my game to that) It'll have all the options in the second picture.
