I have several users experiencing slow logons. We're in an AD environment
and this seems to have started after upgrade to XP SP2. The "applying
computer settings" message takes a long time (60 - 90 seconds) and the
desktop takes a long time (60 seconds) to come up. There are only 2 GPOs
that apply to these machines and both have been extended with the XP SP2
additions. There are very few settings in these GPOs - mostly just account
security settings and disable the XP SP2 firewall. I've disabled the User
settings in the GPOs as applicable. These are users in a Win2K AD
environment.
