I'm really glad Tom's HW Guide now reviews movies and games, but does anyone read them? I think most visitors are only interested in hardware. Also, the giant game sites have huge databases of game reviews+downloads.
I'm really glad there's now more variety here, but does anyone read the reviews? I plan to read the DVD reviews, but most of the game reviews I've already read from sites and magazines a week or 2 ago.
Maybe Tom's HW could evolve into a mega site with reviews of hardware, software, and entertainment. But I hope Tom's HW continues to focus on hardware, and do games+movies as a much smaller project.
Most people live at the speed of life, I drink Mountain Dew!
I do not read game reviews, ever. If I see an interesting game I play it, I read about the games before they come out but actual reviews...suck they just aret interesting. I like toms for the hardware news, I am much more into hardware than games. I like the idea that my machine can run games faster than 95% of everyone else but sometimes I dont choose to run them lol
smurf A- I saw you leave with smurfette
smurf B- oh man as soon as we got out of the bar she started smurfing me
smurf A- shut the smurf up
smurf A- right in the smurfing pariking lot?
I'm still to read a THG game reveiw. I hope that I will read the Age of Mythology reveiw.
Their game review section is 100% unnecessary. Nobody here comes to read game reviews. There are many great sites dedicated to reviewing games. People are used to go there. I go to Actiontrip for game reviews.

No, can't say it peaked my interest. I'm not a gamer though, so unless I see something that someone else has in action, it wouldn't impress me as much. The last game I actually was interested enough to play was FFX on PS2, but that was my old roomates, and I can't justify getting my own PS2 just for one game.

Actually, maybe they can expand it to incorporate more software to interest a wider group of people. I understand the games since they tend to demand alot of resources, but there are other apps that do as well.

This game looks and feels like an improved version of original AoE. It's not a good successor of AoE-2. After playing AoE-2, anybody should be dissapointed with this game. Things are too small, like original AoE. Maybe there will be AoM-2 soon, and I hope it will look and feel like AoE-2

It has zooming and rotation, I loved the way it felt, much more optimized than any 3d game I've yet seen. Graphics are top notch yet they do not hog my Ti200 at all.
AoM has built in Zoom and Rotation IIRC, with either the mouse wheel or some button. Just check the help file or configuration of buttons.
It is 3d as you can closely check. Cutscenes are 3d as well, haven't you seen them?!
IIRC wheel mouse rolling zooms in. I don't have the demo anymore but I really do recall zooming being available. Unless my huge RAM brain is deceiving me.

Another guy in games forum answered my question. This game looks ugly with bigger objects. Reason- they are designed to display in smaller shape. AoE-2 is a different storry. It looks great with bigger objects.

No, I am talking only about AoM!
Except cutscenes, all AoE games and AoM look similar. So I asked this question

Yes it is quite different from AoE2... but I'm not dissapointed with the game. It is in full 3D has a lot of AeO2 strenghts and great civs and units. So what is your favourite mythologic unit?
Oh and if there comes an add-on for this game I suspect they will put in the Roman culture.

Ajax is stronger... but Arcantos has a nice additional power.
I didn't play much with the Egyptians yet but the Phoenix sounds good. My favourites from the Greek civ is the Golden Giant though they're slow... the throwing Cyclops is also funny, even seen a flying elephant?

Actually, I don't think they'll use Romans, since the Roman gods and the Greek gods are basically the same. I also can't see them adding Indian (Hindu) gods, since the Hindu religion is still active and they don't want to stir up any controversey by using a living religion.
I think they'll add Celts, and possibly Mayan and Japanese/Chinese. Who knows, maybe they'll use Sumerian/Babalonian civs as well.

Hmmmm... yes you're right, for the most part only the names where different. Including Asian civs and maybe Celts and other 'barbarians' in old-Europe makes sense,
My dual-PSU PC is so powerfull that the neighbourhood dimms when I turn it on
