MINIMIZED APPLICATIONS

Can someone explain?
When I open applications and minimize them they are shown as running in the
Task manager.----------Frank

The application is open - why shouldn't it be in Task Manager?

Ted, Thanks for the reply but I am actually interested in the mechanics of
it being open - does it just mean that the app resides in RAM and is ready

An application that is minimized to the taskbar is in exactly the same state
as an application with an open window.
