MechAssault System Link

I'm having System Link problems with Mech Assault. I have two XBOX console systems, one of which I've played XBOX Live and downloaded all new content to. When I use the XBOX System Link cable I can access the screen for SYSTEM LINK on both units, but when I start a game on either machine I'm unable to connect to that game. Neither machine will show an active game in the GAMES screen. Any thoughts on what I might be doing wrong? Could it be because I've downloaded all new contect to one of the machines? I've tried creating new names, starting from the beginning, and I'm still unable to start the system link. I've also tried this process using a HUB and connecting the XBOX consoles through that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
