Garbled output on printer

I have parallel printer that will only print garbled data. I have tested the cable, printer and driver on another PC and it works fine. Can the Parallel port on the motherboard [-peep-] itself without anything else going down??

Try reinstalling the driver.
Any additional info you can give us?

What are the spooling settings (RAW/EMF etc)?

What text are you trying to print?

I dont think it is the driver as the same garbled output appears when printing in dos??
