I have installed the files for some Asian languages on a Windows XP Pro SP2
system, i.e. in Regional and Language Options\Languages I have the following
check boxes selected:
Install files for complex script and right-to-left languages (including
Thai)
Install files for East Asian languages
After the setup completed these entries appeared in the registry:
After a few days I deselected the above check boxes in order to uninstall
the appropriate files. The entries in the registry, however, remained in
place.
Is this normal, since I'me having a problem with IMJPMIG.EXE after I install
a cyrillic software.
The problem is that after I install that software, reboot (as required for
the change in the system fonts to take effect), then start the cyrillic
driver (at this point it sends a WM_ACTIVELAYOUT message to all applications
to set the layout to US), then after the next reboot after logon the
IMJPMIG.EXE takes too much CPU power and does not exit as it did before.
Then, I add and remove an input layout (in the regional options) and restart
again (this time I did not load the cyrillic driver at all). After the
reboot the IMJPMIG.EXE behaves as expected - it exits soon after it was
started.
To sum up, the problem appears after logon if I ahve loaded the cyrillic
driver before the latest reboot. To alleviate the problem, I need to add and
remove an input layout in the Regional Settings - after I restart
IMJPMIG.EXE behaves normally.
Does anybody have any idea about why the above registry entries remain after
I uninstall the Asian languages support files or the problem with the
cyrillic driver?
