epox 8k7a non-raid 512 ddr 266fsb 1.4 athlon 266 win 98 geforce 2 mx400 64. Seagate 7200 40gig barracuda.
This is a new system. I have disabled virus prot. in bios.Reformatted hd and repartitioned over and over. The win98 se install locks up during the restart phase (last)of the install. Safe mode locks up before entering windows. Normal boot results in a windows protection error and no other info. Checked ram in another machine = ok. processor at 101 degrees not over-clocked.spent 1 hr online with microsoft. They dont know.can boot to drive if i format /s. but win 98se wont finish install. HELP. Can anyone suggest a mb that is 266 fsb capable that has 761 chipset? This is going on 3 weeks.
