I got to repair my friend computer and I just can't find the [-peep-] solution,
here it goes : the mouse is not there ,in the device manager it saying that it's working properly but the mouse is just not there ,no pointer nothing.
Here what I've done already :
changed mouse, tried 3 of them both USB and PS/2
tried reinstalling windows (in the setup mode the mouse is there and working)
install and deleted about 10 times the stupid driver
used windows help files for nothing (did that thing ever helped anyone???)
been trying for 30 min the get it to reboot in safe mode but it just wont do it (tried everything even cold reboot)

So I'm about to trow out the window that stupid computer or format the hole thing and he will loose all his stuff...of corse my friend doesn't want to loose it all ,all his work is in there.

Uninstall the mouse drivers in safe mode and reboot. Sometimes that works.

Thanks but I already tried this one...I'll format it ,I created a partition on the hard drive and now I'm cut/pasting it all by keyboard...I just hate that computer!

I had that to but only in some games. It turned out that the chipset AGP drivers where bad. So I recommend trying to reinstall chipset and videocard drivers or update them.

Tried adding the mouse as a second mouse and disabling the original mouse in device manager?

I tried overclocking my mouse once before. Unfortunately it got too hot and burned my fingers when I was playing Quake. Can anyone recommend a good HSF for my mouse?

Well u can get a sweaty palm water cooling system. It's really quite effective.

Yeah watercooling will do... just place a waterblock inside your mouse and two small tubes that go to your case. Now all you have to do is to connect it with your main water rig.
You don't have a watercooled PC? Well then you just use kitchen-mits.

there is a prog called ps2plus that lets you up the sample rate of the ps2 port thus "overclocking" it. in the real world though it makes little diffrence. the mouse just moves a bit smother in windows.

Now thats what I want to know!
