Any one have any experience trying to resucitate a 714p+? wireless
router? The firmware update seemed to fail mid stream (freak accident -
dont ask). The device now cannot talk, it cant ping etc. Tried reset
with multiple options - interesting that when it first powers up, it
does at least show an ethernet connection to my PC (which is on the
same IP address range...) - but then it disconnects....any thoughts on
how I might upload new firmware to this device then? Any jumpers on the
mainboard?

Use tftp to replace the firmware. Find a tftp client (below) and get
ready to upload the firmware bin file. Use 192.168.0.1 as an IP
address, no password, binary transfer, and upload. Get ready to
upload the file but don't hit send quite yet. The problem is that you
have to catch it at just the right moment. The DI-604/704 series has
a "crash" mode which is activated by holding the reset button button
down until the M1 and M2 lights goes into the fast blinking mode
(about 10 seconds). When it does from slow flash to fast flash, hit
the upload button on your tftp client.
