Besides virusses, there are a number of other "malwares"
Download "Hitmanpro" and let it run on your system.
Or use Adaware and Spybot Search&Destroy
Also Clear de Registry ( use i.e RegSeeker)
Scan and defrag the hard drive.
Open "Task Manager" and have a look at the processes that eat up computer
time!
Look also on any rogue applications that need RAM and/or CPU cycles.
