I'm looking for a motherboard running the KT266A chipset. However, I also want one with onboard ethernet. I am on a budget, and the MSI Pro2 and Soyo's Dragon are quite a bit more expensive. I really don't need USB 2.0, RAID or onboard 5.1.

Do any of you have any suggestions?

If you really don't need any of those additional features, you should consider the ECS k7s5a motherboard with the SiS735 chipset. The performance is fantastic, it is very stable, and the price even better--under $60.

$60 is pretty damn cheap but also take a look at gigabyte GA-7VTXH: onboard LAN, Soundblaster 128 and KT266A. seems to be a fine board but not heard much said yet, waiting for my GF3Ti200 before i can run mine...

it is a fine board and i would strongly recommend the gigabyte (with onboard lan and sound), the one dave pointed out over the k7s5a. yes, the k7s5a is a good board, but who knows how many times you'll have to send it back to get a good one.

well if luck is a lady, it explains why i have no luck :frown:

I'd recommend the Shuttle AK-31 rev. 3.1. It's got the KT266A, 4 DIMM slots (most have only three), lots of overclocking options, good stability, and it only costs around $85. The only thing that it doesn't have (besides those other things you said you didn't want) is onboard ethernet. Check out a review here if you're interested:
