Win 7 and new monitor

hi i got a new monitor which resolution is 19xx by 8xx but windows highest resolution is 14xx by 7xx. DO i need to do something with a new monitor to make it work properly with win 7?

a vizio va19l 10t
the native resolution is 1366 x 768

but it says it supports 1920 x 1080, 1366 x 768, 1024 x 768, 800 x 600

why cant i have it at 1920 x 1080?

win 7 wont let me

I see, normally, the native resolution remains the best resolution.
I seen the specs mentioning 1080 p though, but its still weird for a 19 inch monitor to be able to display 1080 p .
If you tried other resolutions other than the native [bigger res] and it doesn't work, my guess is you will have to stick with the native res.
