Oblivion getting really low FPS

Hey community,

So I recently got Oblivion off of Steam (sale for $4.99, pretty cheap) and I started to play it tonight. I am getting a really really low frame rate for some reason, like 15 or so FPS at any resolution. There is no question that my computer will be able to run it. My specs are in my signature. Any suggestions?

What OS are you running, Vista sometimes has problems running oblivion

First, let me comment on your system. wow

Have you tried the unofficial patch? Make sure you install the official 1.2 patch first and then the unofficial patch over it.

You can also use the large address enable so the game will use more then 2 gbs.

Thanks for the advice tekmage (sorry for the really delayed response) I just downloaded the large address enable and used it on Oblivion, I will get back to you when I try it out (I am doing "homework").

Did this work? I've got a newly-emerged FPS problem with Oblivion that I have NO idea what do do with. Came up right after I repaired windows and makes the game unplayable.

i had similar issues on my old amd setup, it went away after patching...
