Skyrim keeps crashing as it loads

Just when skyrim starts to launch, it crashes. I have made sure that all my drivers are up to date but don't know why it's happening. I have a i7 920 with nvidia gtx 260 with 6 gb of trichannel ram and plenty of hard drive space. Anyone have a clue why it's not working.

try setting your sound to 44.1 khz at 24 bit. You could also try the "large address aware" app. http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112556

Thanks -- I actually had to set it at 44.1 khz at 16 bit. It wouldn't work at 24 bit. Not sure why -- guess it's a glitch or something.
