xp failed login

Hello,
I have a problem with xp clients when loging in a nt server 4.0. service
pack 6 domain.
Each domain user belongs to defined policys and to a logon script in the
domain controler.
In windows xp when an user logons, sometimes uses a policy an sometimes use
other. I take care about it because the xp users have registry edition
enabled in their policy and sometimes the can edit the registry and
sometimes they can not.
This only happens in xp clients.

Any idea.

Can I know which policy is using a loged user?
