How Do I Identify CPU

I have an HP-6735 with a Celeron 633 but I have no idea what
type mount it is (socket1,7, slot or ??). The CPU is illogically located in the top left quadrant of the MB and out of the airsteam. It is mounted in what "appears" to be the same socket as is/was used for a P-200/233 (# of pins may differ) but does not have the lever-lock (that I can see).
Thanks

All Celeron 633s are socket370 chips, unless mounted on a slotket adapter. You can use Wcpuid to chech what type is the processor but it will say its a slot1 processor if its mounted on a slotket.

Anyway you have opened the case so you can see its a socket370 processor. OEMs like HP and Compaq generally dont like other to do the upgrades, else they would loose a fortune, thats why I suppose they dint use a ZIF socket.

BTW P200/233 has 296 pins while P-III/Celeron has 370.
