I'm assuming you have authority to do this - installing an unauthorised WAP

Ensure any builtin DHCP server the AP may have is disabled, plug it into
your LAN, and do whatever your IT security people normally do on your
company to allow new machines to connect. For instance many companies lock
MACs to IPs on the DHCP server, disallow unknown MACs, etc.
