If you are on a family share plan, there is a deal going on that adds 100
minutes to your account every month at no extra cost except starting your
contract over again. You can call *611 and do it over the phone in a few
minutes. The deal is only going on until January 16

Thanks for the tip! I got a 400 minute, 2 year contract two and a
half weeks ago. Now I have 25% more time in exchange for an
additional 2.5 week contract!

Thanks for posting this...
I called just now with my questions. 2 lines, line #1 is on a 2 year
contract. Line #2 on a 1 year.
They said all I need to do (minimum) is extend the lines 1 year. This also
does not adversely
effect my new every 2 date (which the Verizon CS person tells me is
separate).
Anyway, I signed up for the deal for the 1 year. My only concern is folks
that are losing
their included data option. Anyway, hope it works out OK.
-Dan
PS: I figure I've been a happy customer for 4 years or so, and this makes me
less worried I'll have buyers remorse later on.

Great tip! I signed up only 8 days ago so they gave me the extra
minutes without extending my contract at all.

I just called and asked about the 100 minutes you say will be added every
month.
I was told that the 100 minutes were a one time add on, just until they are
used up. And only to be used by the "primary line" in the Family share plan.
So, I did not add a line as I had planned to do.

--> This isn't correct. It's definitely every month. You may wish to call
back.
The confusion is that Verizon routinely does 100 bonus minutes
this time of year for things like auto-pay, or going in to get your account
checked (to see if other options exist, or opportunity for them to sell
you something more).
This deal isn't one all of the CS folks seem to know about, but it
is definitely 100 minutes every month-- pro-rated the first month
for the duration of the contract...

Thanks Dan,
I did call back this morning and talked to an informed CSR. She agreed with
what you said. I closed my SRN plan that I have had for more than 4 years
and added the phone to my Americas Choice plan as a share line. With the 100
bonus minutes, I only give up 50 total minutes that I had before. I do not
need SRN anymore.
They also said that since I didn't upgrade phones at this time that I can
upgrade at any future date. I think that when I do that it will extend the
contract.

Thank you so much for this information. I went to the Verizon store, and
they added it to my plan. The whole transaction took only about 2 minutes.
Thanks again.
