Hello,

I just bought a AMD Athlon 1800+ with a MSI K7T266 Pro 2
mainboard.
When booting the system displays an internal CPU frequency of only 1150 Mhz.
If I speed up my FSB frequency in the bios to 133 Mhz,
the system locks up!!

CAN ANYONE HELP ME??

Thanx in advance

Did you change the FSB to 133 because the default value is 100? I bought the same mobo as you, but the CPU I choosed AthlonXP1500, so there won't be too much difference. 1150=100x11.5 while 1530=133X11.5. I think that is your problem.

jackzheng is correct. The FSB is defalted to 100MHz and therefore giving you a 1150MHz reading. Athlon XP 1800+ has a core clock speed setting of 1.53GHz when the FSB is at 133MHz and the multiplier is at 11.5. So if you have the FSB set at 100MHz then it will be 100x11.5=1150MHz. Correct it through the Bios and you should be all set.
