Disk Cleanup Problem

I accidentally deleted things in More Options/Windows Components part of Disk
Cleanup. I lost my Wordpad and Games part of the Accessories & Utilities. I
also no longer have the volume control icon in my taskbar! I am not sure yet
what other things are missing. I can't find a list of what is supposed to be
there - after many hours of looking on websites. I can't do a system restore
because I also deleted all prior restore points! I am so mad at myself for
this ridiculous error as I always create a new restore point when doing
things on the computer! Is there anyway I can recover these lost components?
I have installed the Service Pack 2 so I don't think I can just put my
Windows XP Home CD in my puter and recover those programs or can I? I have
ordered the Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 CD but that takes 4-6
weeks to arrive. Any help will be much appreciated.

Unfortunately all the advice given here did not work for me.

I have no installation discs/floppy disc or any other discs for my PC as it was custom built and the guy who built it now lives a long way away .

In addition to above i cannot place speaker in taskbar either.

Is there any other way i can do this?

Thanks in advance ,

Charlie.

You can borrow someone else's windows disc, and use the add/remove windows features to reinstall them.

However, this is a 5 year old thread. If you need assistance, feel free to start your own thread.
