I just read my post and understood that it's hard to understand what am I talking about (sorry for my English).
Let me try to explain again with more details.
I read PCGAMER magazine and found out that by disabling virtual memory before defraging would increase performance.
I format my hard drive and installed Windows ME on it(600Mb).
I disabled virtual memory, defraged.
Then enabled virtual memory.(640Mb and with Windows ME mu used space was 1.04 Gigabyte)
I installed a lot of games and wanted to defrag again, so i went and disabled virual memory (swap file disappeard, but used space was STILL 1.04Gb)and defraged. I enabled virtual memory by 640mb again. Used space now is 1.68Gb, but I have only ONE Wondows ME installed and only ONE SWAP file. It loks like I have 2 swaps, right? I can fill my hard drive(30Gigs) like that just by enabling and disabling virtual memory!!!!!!! Else I found out that _RESTORE folder (on DRIVE C:) is 1.28Gb (I deleted eveything from startup, including system restore). I opened _RESTORE folder, but didn't find any file bigger then 300Kbytes. People, i like to clean and defrag my computer, but I don't like to lose hard drive space, so PLEASE!!!!!!HELP!!!!!!AND THANK YOU!!!!!

Not sure for WinME but I done that in Win98 with no problems. I know a feature of ME that let you restore to a previous state of the OS after a bad Driver/Program installation, maybe you should deactivate this option before doing that. Maybe you'll have to find the way to delete your _restore folder, I dont know the consequence for doing that manually. I'm not a WinME user but that's the impression that I have.

Hope that helps.
