Most THGC members are from US and Canada, so I guess cricket is not popular in this forum. Anyway there's some THGC members from test playing nations. I hope they will resond to this thread.

Cricket World Cup is coming very soon. Tell us your thoughts on this World Cup and expections from your country (if going to participate in this tournament)

I'm from Bangladesh. We are going to play World Cup for the first time as a test playing nation. We hope that we will win against Kenya and Canada. Plus an upset victory against playing nation will be very good. I would like to see Bangladesh as the World Cup winner, but it's impossible. So I want to see India as the champion of this World Cup

Hah! One day England will get their act together and then we'll.. nah, probably not... :frown:

My money's on Oz, with SA as a decent side bet (best match I've ever seen was those 2 in their semi last time round). Nobody else seems to be in any sort of form.
It would be nice to see one of the smaller teams doing well. Bangladesh are probably capable of the odd upset, and on current form, I fully expect England to embarrass themselves against Holland!

What are you talking about? Why do you need a cup for crickets? Those damn things keep me up at night while camping. They're cool though cause at my parents place I would catch them and feed them to the cats. In return, my cats would bring me rats, mice, snakes, gophers, and moles. It was a great relationship. I generally didn't play with the crickets like you do though. And the cats would generally only play with them for a little while before eating them. They prefered to play with the other critters. Is there really that big a difference between crickets from Bangladesh, Kenya, and Canada? Do you think my cats would notice the difference?

Is Holland playing? Damn I didn't know that... not that I'm interested in cricket.

Yep - got a reasonable team going too, but you've managed to smuggle in a couple of French players somehow! Anyway, a few of them are making a good go of it in our County leagues. The game's on Feb 16, and I wouldn't rule out an upset... This could be your intro to the world's finest excuse for a beer... errr, no... sport, that was it!

Interesting... though cricket isn't populair in Holland so I doubt a lot of people will follow it.
