I munched some system files when I ran PC Bug killer recently and I have
managed to replace the dll's etc that were lost.

However I do still have a problem when I try to launch PaintShop Pro 9. The
spash screen comes up and gets to the "Creating Windows" section and then
thros an error and quits. Also the Help Center gives me a "Can't find
MSCORE.dll" message but I have MSCore actually in 3 directories, System,
Sytem32 and the PCHelath/Binaries directory but still gives the error. Not
that I use it much but since it is broke it bothers me.

My question is what file(s) do I need? And where is a good place to get them
? My XP distribution CD? or elsewhere?

Other programs which had problems at least gave me the name of missing
files. PSP9 doesn't.

All my other programs seem fine (Photoshop, Max, Bryce, games, ) atleast I
haven't run into any probs yet. If I can get this going I think I may have
dodged a large bullet.

If not the I can see a reformat, reinstall upgrade svc paks reinstall
software EEEEWWWWwww. I shudder to have to do that..

Any help muchly appreciated.

Hi CWT,

With that many files missing or damaged I would suggest using System
Restore.
How to restore the operating system to a previous state in Windows XP
