process modules

i was doing a scan of my computer using adware se, under the process modules
the amt seemed large, it was showing 1291 process modules. i asked a friend
of mine and they have not seen that high..system has been going real slow, i
just got cable hooked up less than a week ago and thought it should be going
faster.? thx for any help

There is no "correct" amount for the number of process modules shown by an
Ad-Aware scan, but that number is not untypical. I believe I had something
like 1350 process modules identified during my last scan with Ad-Aware. The
number of process modules is not the issue - what those process modules are
doing is what matters.

A computer can operate slowly for any number of reasons. Here are the most
common reasons (in no particular order):

Viruses, spyware
Insufficient hardware
Lack of maintenance
Too many programs running in the background
User misconfiguration.
