Cant change video settings manually skyrim

i am able to choose between low, medium, high, and ultra presets but whenever i try to manually set the graphics settings it does not save them
any help will be appreciated

I guess ur not clicking save settings or something minor like that which can be easily overseen. Also I cant help you if you got a pirated copy.its not a pirated copy, when i set the video settings at its maximum settings on the launcher and click ok, and then go back to the settings they are reset again to its defaults
