The post "LG VX6100 GPS Location??" has a link that tells how to open the LG
VX6100 service menu. It could be that Verizon locked out the damaging
functions but it would be wise to be careful when in the service menu.
The "Screen" test seems to be harmless, here is how to open it:
1) Go to the menu list. If you have trouble with this step, it's best that
you stop now and never take the top off your toilet or open the hood of your
car.
2) Press '0'. You should see: "Service Code - ??????".
3) Enter "000000".
4) Select "2 - Field Tests".
5) Select "1- Screen".
6) You should now be looking at a list of parameters that constantly update.
You may have to wait a moment for the column on the right to populate.
7) Press CLR to get out.
Please don't ask me for an explanation of each parameter and don't get your
shorts in a bunch if playing around in the service menu screws up your
phone.
The brave and/or foolish may dig deeper and find interesting stuff in the
service menu. This is my only phone, no land-line, and I'm not up for
experimentation. It would be cool to read what others find in this menu.
