im upgrading an amd system for my friend.
his current system:

k6-2 233
10 gig. HD
32 mb pc133 ram
not sure what kind of mobo.
8 mb vid card

he's looking to spend a little less than $400 (US dollars) to upgrade his system so i decided to upgrade just the essentials: cpu, mobo, ram.

i've already decided to get him the athlon xp 1600+ and 256 mb ddr ram (kingston).

the only problem is the mobo. i dont know which one to get.
right now im thinking the Asus A7V266-E KT266A.
if any can suggest a better system for less than $400, by all means let me know.
thanx in advanced

I don't claim to know anything about everything, I just tell people what I know.

I have the shuttle ak31 version 3.1 ($80 newegg), and it overclocks ok in the 138-140 fsb range. 6 pci slots and 4 ddram slots, with all overclocking adjustments in the bios. I also picked up a gainward geforce 2 ti 500 only $99 (with tv out) and an IBM 40 gig hardrive for $69 (both refurbished). Order ddram direct from crucial, and they offer free shipping.
