please help i am try
ing to play a game but this error comes could you fix how do we fix it

1. Download install latest version of directx 9c @ http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3

2. Run DXDiag and let it check for problems and updates.

If you are running Windows 7 and you get this error you either have an older game that does not run with 7, or you don't have the proper video card drivers for your system. If a game is set to look for a spesific version of DirectX, and it's above what it's looking for, it can easily think the version is an older one, whereas in reality, the game code just is not smart enough to tell the game that the new version is also OK.
