Bad FPS on RAGE with a 6970

I got rage not long ago, and apparently most reviews ive seen people had 6970's with 2GB VRAM, which is the same as mine, they ran it at a higher resolution and same graphics settings and claims the have a good 60fps constant which i found weird. When i first played, i experienced quite a lot of textrue popping but i enabled triple buffering which made it fairly better, but my problem now is that im getting pretty crappy fps, im getting about 30-50fps not constant, it kinda gives me a headache after a while. If anyone knows how to fix this or why please reply. Thanks
My specs are
AMD Phenom IIx4 factory clocked @3.5GHZ
AMD Radeon HD 2GB 6970
1TB WDC blk 7200rpm
8GB ram
MY current drivers are the latest 11.11 from AMD btw

Odds are the benchmarks/reviews used a i7 in he test system.

Your CPU should be more than plenty for that game to run well, but not when RAGE is just another idiotic console port.

do you have all the patches for rage installed? to my knowledge it was a badly ported game with minimal testing on PC.

make sure you got latest GPU drivers

check your utilization on CPU

lastly I can advise to look for rage community optimizations if there are any that could help you
