Bios Question

i have QDI BrillianX 1S motherboard with a 440bx chipset.the bios only recognizes pentium 2 processors.i can set the multiplyer up to 8x100.will this bios recognize pentium 3 processors?there are no more bios upgrades from QDI.thanks.

AFAIK Processor detection is not up to BIOS alone. If your mobo doesn't support other than P2, then you can't put a P3 on it.

Check your mobo manual, it should state on the first 5 pages what kind of hardware it supports, all the way from amount of RAM to the speed of the processor...
