Ok i just bought a new hard drive for my computer its a maxtor 100gb sata hard drive this is the only hard drive i have. i need a driver for it so when i intall windows i can intall the dirver into my system. the motherboard im trying to hook it up to is the asus P5GD2-X.
What version of windows are you installing?
Every port on that motherboard is south bridge controlled so you shouldn't need to provide any drivers on a floppy to install windows on the drive.

And the sign says "You got to have a membership card to get inside" Huh
So I got me a pen and paper And I made up my own little sign</pre><p></font color=red>
ok the werid thing is though when i try to format the drive using the win xp cd it says that it cant detect my hard drive. The drive shows up in the bios though.
Is the drive showing up in bios? Is the SATA/SCSI boot option set for the drive?
If this still does not work, download your SATA driver, and use the F6 option when installing.
Whether needed or not, the F6 option will work.
