can athlon chipset mobo use pentium processor?

yo guys, another thing, of all athlon, thunderbird or duron for my SL-75KAV-X mobo would be best? sorry for asking so much, i am a hardware newbie as well -_-

oh yeah another thing... will windows 98 f*** up my computer if i just plug everything off, change the cpu and mobo? *i had it installed and plan on upgrading*

You can use an old install of Windows 98 on a new mobo, but I don't recommend it. You could get driver problems and incompatibilities.

My case has so many fans that it hovers above the ground .

much rather have a toplees siren that does'nt smoke to give me some fireworks. Anyone going to beep to that.
