Just did a new install of Windows XP, which does not shut down properly when I either Turn Off the Computer or Restart. Any suggestions as to correct this?
Thanks

Probally a program is hanging on shutdown. Check for any confilcts and make sure drivers are all updated.

And the sign says "You got to have a membership card to get inside" Huh

Straight install?

What Antivirus are you running? You didn't change anything like Scan Floppy Drive on Shutdown?

Event Viewer will be your friend in this case..

check your system settings, look for an on-error option to restart the PC, change it to shut down the PC...

Trust me I know what I'm doing... ooops, grab the cat...
