I was asked to upgrade a year old HP Pavilion with a Celeron 667 in it. The board is an 810L chipset, so I don't think it would support a P3. Does anyone know if this system uses a standard mATX board and powersupply connection? If so, I would like to use that new Abit nForce board in the mATX format.
Dude just get a new case ...save the headache and get rid of that hp case.....get ya an Antec SX-840 about 140 bones....on pricewatch.com......check em out at www.antec-inc.com......besides who wants to place an hp case in their house hehe
Thanks, I already use an Antec SX-830 and I yanked out the PS to put a 441W Enermax in there. Also yanked the fans and put in 5 Panaflow 1LA (the ultra quiet ones)
This HP is someone elses. I don't have the option of replacing the case, he likes it and wants to keep it.
Yes, these were standard cases. Some had 7 slots and used an mATX board in a full ATX case, others used an mATX case. If it has 7 slots you need not limmit yourself to mATX boards, if it has only 4, you'll go mATX.
The board he has should support a PIII. If it supports any 133MHz FSB PIII (depends on BIOS), it will support up to the PIII 1000EB.
