I’ve installed Win XP Pro recently and I’ve got one problem since than. Sometimes computer freezes and does not respond to any input until I re-boot it. A check of the error log gives me the following messages.
“AMLI: ACPI BIOS is attempting to write to an illegal IO port address (0xcf8), which lies in the 0xcf8 - 0xcff protected address range. This could lead to system instability. Please contact your system vendor for technical assistance.”

Win XP has been installed on a clear disk and I’ve updated the m/b BIOS and disable ACPI function in BIOS but the problem persists. Does anybody know what the problem is and how to fix it?
My hardware configuration is as follows:
M/b ASUS K7V-T / BIOS: k7vt1007
Video ASUS 6800 pure / driver: Detonator XP
Sound Creative SB Live Value
H/d WD 205AA 20GB
RAM 256MB
