Got specs for the pc (first one) im building when componants are cheaper in the january sales.

Need a decent heatsink and fans recomending, heres what ive got so far.

AMD ATHLON XP 1600 (at 266mhz)
£ 116.33

DDR ELITE K7S5A
£ 61.10

TASK 3003 BLUE MIDI 300W-ATX + 300WATT PSU
£ 37.60

NVIDIA GEFORCE 2 MX-400 64MB AGP
£ 62.28

Using drives and 256mb pc-133 ram out of pc I currently own.

As you can see it has pretty cheap specs because im on a budget.

Any help appriciated, cheers.

Thermaltake volcano 5 and 6 (not 6+ which is too noisy) are budget heatsinks that will get the job done if you don't overclock. But a better choice is the thermalright sk6 (pure copper) with a fan of your choice. Avoid delta fans, they're hard on your ears. I use a 60mm generic case fan that runs at 4500 rpm, and my cpu temps still dropped 3-5 degrees celcius.

first of all, you said DDR elite, and you are going to use your old pc-133....i wouldn't recommend that, because this will create problems, if your system boots with these on!
you see the DDR has a bigger bandwidth and run at 266MHZ, so how are you gonna use 133MHZ sd's???????????????
and i recommend the thermaltake...
i have an XP1800+ coupled with it and a huge fan...mre than enough trust me

Hey TFM,
I don't know if this is in your budget: Thermal Intergration TI-V77L(4000 rpm fan) about $22 USD or Vantec CCK 6027D(4500 rpm fan) about $20 USD both are pretty quiet. The TI-V77L maybe suitable for later OC'ing(check your cpu temps first), the CCK 6027D, I would not use for OC'ing. Be prepared to replace your PSU in about a year or two........... it is hard to build a good PSU(& case for that cheap), don't worry you'll have more money by then, and you can get a new faster mobo and DDR at the same time. Merry Christmas & Good Luck!
Peace Out...........tile

WHAT????? I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THE ROAR OF MY CASE FANS! YOU'LL HAVE TO SCREAM!
