recycle bin

when i deleat files any kind they do not go to the recycle bin, also if i
click to deleat files from the bin it says 2 but their are no files there. i
have windows xp home edition sp1 and mcfee virus also i did not checked the
box to

Note: Files that were previously deleted will be permanently erased from the Recycle
Bin.

Create a notepad document and save it (any name will do).
Now delete the file so that it goes to the recycle bin.
Empty the recycle-bin.

To test, create another file and then delete it – does it now show up in the recycle
bin?
