Can't set resolution in some DX11 games

Hi,
I've been having a problem where I can't set the resolution in some DirectX 11 games (specifically DX11 versions of Crysis 2 and Civilization V). The game will start running in a low resolution, probably something like 800x600, and when I go to the options to try and change it, the resolution field is blank, and I can't change anything. I would like to be running these games at 1920x1080, and so I end up stuck with the DX9 versions. Why is this happening and how can I fix it?
I have an i5-2500K, and a Sapphire 6950 2GB flashed to 6970 and OC'd to 900/1375.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

EDIT: it's actually definitely not as low as 800x600, but all my problems still stand.

UPDATE: Just got Total War: Shogun 2 from a sale on Steam and unlike Crysis 2 and Civ 5, it runs perfectly on DX11 at 1920x1080. Why??? I don't get it! I guess this means it's definitely a problem with those two games and not my drviers/hardware/etc...?

"Sapphire 6950 2GB flashed to 6970 and OC'd to 900/1375" ... could be the issue. Maybe some games don't properly recognize the flashed graphics card under DX11.

Have you tried DX11 before you flashed the card? If not, you could flash it back and check if it works.

6950 and 6970 cards are recognized as the same card by most games. The card is listed as a 6900 for both, I've played both with a card that was unlocked to 6970 shaders and also with one that was flashed to a 6970, and neither cared. What drivers are you using?

Just tried flashing it back and back on stock clocks (800/1250) and still happening.

It says I'm using 8.930.10.0 in device manager. That's the latest, I think.

it sounds like a game bug. try changing your gfx drivers then reinstalling the game.
make sure you try the game b4 patching as some of the patches introduced new bugs. so give it a try if all is well patch the game. play again and if its all working patch it again.ans so on till you find the game either fully patched and working or you find the patch that may be causing the bug.

either way you can still go into the games ini files and set the screen rez manualy.

Can I reinstall the game without deleting it from my hard drive and downloading it from Steam all over again?
Also, which drivers should I revert to?
