PC can't start

i have bought a compaq desktop pc for 2 years. it has no problems till a few days ago when i cannot on the pc. when i open to look inside the casing, i don't see anything wrong. each time i on the pc the the cpu fan turns once and then stops but the pc doesn't start. i tried to change the CMOS battery already but it still doesn't help. please help me somebody.

Could be your PSU, seen that particular symptom several times. Could you lay your hands on another to test? However, I'm not sure if Compaq have their own special connectors that mean you can't just drop a regular ATX PSU in. Some of the other guys may have more info on this.

I knew Dell did it, just couldn't be certain about Compaq, that's all. At least you've clarified it, thanks.

thats why we hate dell so much.
well one of the reasons.
