Will Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 or 6870 (I am looking forward to 6950 but I don't know if I really can afford it) be able to run Battlefield 3 in High Settings? Something like that:
Resolution: 1680x1050
Anti Aliasing: I don't really care about it.
Shadows: Yes High
Texture Quality: High
I DON'T CARE about Ultra but I want to play it at High Setting without lag with good FPS 30+

My other system specs:
Intel i7 2600k @3.40GHz (Not overclocked)
8gb RAM DDR3 (2x4) @1333MHz

Thanks in advance...

You will get massively superior performance with a 6950 so maybe wait till you've saved a bit more cash? One benefit of doing this is that you'll be able to get a card from the 7xxx series, coming out next month. Keep an eye out for benchmarks that will appear on this site and others, and pick the one that suits your needs.

My suggestion with Battlefield 3 is to set VSync to YES and then set your video options to AUTO. It does a good job of picking for you with FAR less discouragement. I am pretty sure you will not run high settings on all, but it should select High detail and then most everything else Medium. Regardless, the game will look fanominal on a 6870.

Going from a 6870 to a 6950 isn't a huge jump. I'd hold out for a better or newer card than a 6950. The 7000 series cards come out Jan 9th, but will most likely be at a premium. They will go down eventually, especially when Nvidia releases their cards.

I now have HD4650 and I want to upgrade it to 6850,6870 or 6950 beacuse I don't what my budget will be...
I can't put 7000 series beacuse they need pci express 3.0 and my mobo has pci express 2.0 so I will put 6xxx series and I will wait till January 9th beacuse 6xxx series prices will fall!

May not fall, depending on what is released first, there have been few falls in recent history.

A PCI-e3 card will work in a pci-e2 slot as far as anyone knows, and given that pci-e2 is only full at x8 there's no need to worry yet.

4-6 weeks after 7xxx series releashed is about mid February of 2012 1,5 month forward. That's a bit far...

What do you mean?
Basically I don't want to buy GTX I prefer HD 6xxx series and I also think that 6850 usually beats GTX 460...

my point is that the 470 dropped in price by quite a lot in a short space of time because there were people willing to buy them. although in this case there was competition. The new 7xxx's will start off high and get cheaper. Its not an AMD vs Nvidia thing, its just that thats what happens, prices start off artificially high, and then drop. If that extra £100 for example is not worth 6 weeks of waiting then spend it.

Basically I won't be able to spend more money than those I will have by the 1st of January so I will spent them on 7th January when the 6xxx series prices will fall a bit and 7xxx will be releashed.

P.S. 1
Nobody answered me about GTA IV, do you have any ideas?

Hey man, if i were you i would wait for the 7000 series to released onto the market. As much as the wait kills, it's simply not worth the money right now. Even if you wait for the 7000 series to buy a 6950/70 you will save $$$. Hold tough!

I am running BF3 on ultra @ 1080 (minus deffered AA of coure) at a steady 45-70 fps. sometimes dropping below 40 frames when 64 people are shooting the *** hard on a big map. Most of the time sitting on 55-60ish with V-Sync on!

My rig (almost 3 years old):

ASUS M4A79T Dlxe Motherboard
AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE @ 3.5ghz
2x Sapphire Vapor-X HD 4890s Crossfired @ 910/1100
8gb of RAM @ 1333mhz

There is no way in hell i am buying a card just yet, i am way too impressed with how well this computer is running considering it's age now.

A 6870 would probably run the game fine in terms of what you're looking for. However i would seriously wait for the next gen of GPUs or you might be really disappointed in rushing it. You will also save a hell of a lot on one if you wait for the 7xxx

Hope that helps
