Hi,
The PSU in my wifes case is a Allied True 450 watt. The problem that I'm getting is that when I connect a 80mm case fan the system wont power up, but as soon as i disconnect the 80mm fan it starts. I then can reconnect the 80mm fan and every thing works fine. The PSU rails read as follows. 2.56,3.29,5.10,12.73, and all that is in the system is 1 HD, 1 CD-RW, Athlon 1600+ cheap ECS mobo, processor fan and 1 80mm case fan. WHat can be causeing this problem. Is the PSU on the way out the door. Again I must say this problem only happens at start up with the 80mm fan pluged in. Thanks in advance for an help.

Forgot to mention that there is also a Radeon 9600 Pro installed.

it happened to me with a cathode tube. dont put it in a fan only (black) molex. put it in a regular white one. if you've already done that you might have a bios setting wrong or a faulty molex cable set. it could also be a problem with the fan. if its an LED it might be taking the power limit over what it should be but since your system is only a 1600 its probably not that.

Hi,
After running some more test's it seams that I have a bad PSU. For some reason the PSU dosn't have enough voltage to start the computer. Easy fix, I returned it for a new PSU. Thanks for the info.
