I`ve got a Compaq Evo D310v computer with a DVD-Rom, CD-RW, 2 HDD (40 and 60) and some components like modem, sound card and video card.
The problem is that i am going to upgrade to a GeForce 5700 Ultra and i only have a 250W PSU (compaq proprietary) should i get a better one or should i stick with my old one.
I`ve seen at the PNY`s page that a GeForce 5700 Ultra requires a 250W PSU but it is really bothering me.
Help me PLEASE.

Even 350 would probably be plenty. I've had good experiences with Allied brand PSU's, and Fortron is always a great bang for the buck unit.

how about you buy the card...if the system is stable then no sweat...if not then buy the psu...

personally i dont think you need to upgrade psus though.

If it isn't a P6 then it isn't a procesor

I decided that i am going to get the card first and stick with it for a few days monitoring the voltage lines on the cpu and mboard and if it gives me some trouble ill go out and buy a PSU ive found Enermax and Antec for about 60 Usd
