MSIE from program launch perf. problem

MSIE is very slow to launch on my system when clicking on a URL in an
application such as OE. It was not slow originally, but has become
that way. I cleaned out the cache and cookies but it did not make much
difference. My disk has gobs of free space and should not be
inhibiting it in any way.

A straight launch of the browser from the desktop is not slow... just
when done out of another application. If I launch the browser before
'I click the link in an application, it's quick too. It seems to be
only when the application is called on to init MSIE that I have
issues.

Ideas ?
