I'm using Windows XP Pro Home Edition (Service Pack 2) on an HP Pavillion
a250y desktop. I have noticed recently that there are no system restore
points on my computer. A check of the Event Viewer seems to indicate that
my computer has unsuccessfully tried to create five system restore points in
the past four days. If I right-click on any of the unsuccessful system
restore attempts listed to view the error properties and then click on the
hyperlink associated with the error properties, I get a message indicating
that System Restore will automatically restart if I manually create a
restore point. However, when I try to do this, I get the message contained
in the subject line. Does anyone know of a way to fix this problem? Thanks
for any suggestions.

Chris, check at Kelly's http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_abc.htm
Select S and scroll to System Restore.

Hi Chris,

Look to see if any of the Source and EventID's in Event Viewer match
the errors in this article.

Anonymous, you can't be using "Windows XP Pro Home Edition," because there's no such thing.
